Titanium(Ti)

Titanium is a lightweight yet high-strength metal with excellent resistance to extreme temperatures, strong acids, and alkalis. With a low density of approximately 4.5 g/cm³, it offers an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, metallic luster, and superior corrosion resistance against harsh environments, including seawater, aqua regia, and chlorine gas.
Titanium is widely used in aerospace, defense, power generation, automotive, petrochemical, medical device components, sporting and recreational products, architectural landscaping, and other industrial applications.

Advantages of titanium :
1. Tensile strength can reach 100–140 kgf/mm², while its density is only about 60% that of steel. Titanium exhibits excellent strength retention at medium temperatures, with a service
temperature several hundred degrees higher than that of aluminum alloys. It can maintain the required mechanical strength under medium-temperature conditions and operate continuously at temperatures ranging from 450–500°C.
2. Titanium provides outstanding corrosion resistance. When exposed to the atmosphere, a uniform and dense oxide film forms instantly on its surface, effectively protecting the material against corrosion from various media. Titanium exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing and neutral environments. Titanium alloys also offer superior corrosion resistance compared with stainless steel in humid environments and seawater applications. However, titanium shows lower corrosion resistance in reducing environments containing active oxygen and chromium salt media.
3. Titanium alloys with extremely low interstitial element content can maintain good ductility and mechanical performance even under extremely low temperatures down to -253°C.
